Czech banjoist and luthier Zdeněk Roh based this song in his own experience, using tropes from Americana music to Americanize his Czech roots: he references the Mississippi Delta, hints at his time at the university in Prague when he mentions "big city mud," and names his home region of Vysočina when he sings the word "highlands." Here Lee plays harmony with Colleen Trenwith, who with the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band introduced their native New Zealand to bluegrass music in the 1960s. On hearing this recording featuring mandolin luminary Adam Steffey, Zdeněk said "I feel very honored to listen to his great solo on a song that I wrote, cannot find other words."
